Debiopharm Group is a global biopharmaceutical development company. For Debiopharm S.A. our Lausanne based company, we are looking for a:

PATENT COUNSEL

The successful candidate will report directly to the Director Legal Affairs and be part of a team of 2 Patent Counsels and 2 Legal Counsels.

Your tasks:

• Responsible for the IP activities of certain projects of the Debiopharm Group and of the formulation patent portfolio;
• Able to draft , file and prosecute patent applications ;
• Capable of leading oppositions, drafting of patentability and clearance opinions ;
• Provide strategic advice to the Management and set up a patent portfolio according to Debiopharm IP strategy.

Your profile:

• Qualified or partially qualified European Patent Attorney with a good academic degree in Pharmacy and chemistry ideally followed by a PhD, a specialization in polymers would be a plus;
• At least 3 years of experience is required either in a patent firm or within a patent department in the industry;
• Self motivated, able to exercise personal initiative;
• Capable of operating effectively as part of a team;
• High communicative and social skills;
• Affinity for Legal Affairs.
• Fluent in French and English, German a plus.
