The Debiopharm Life Sciences Award / Switzerland

The 2009 Debiopharm Life Sciences Award was granted on September 3rd during the Annual EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale) Life Sciences Symposium held from September 2 to 4 in Lausanne. The 2009 Award has honoured a European investigator, Dr Lluis Quintana-Murci for his outstanding contributions in the field of Biology and Immunology of Infection.

The Debiopharm Life Scicences Award is a tribute of Debiopharm Group to innovation as the key engine to medical progress, and it aims at motivating young innovative European researchers in the field of life sciences.  It consists of a total amount of 100'000 Swiss Francs. One half of this amount is a personal reward and the other half supports the recipient's research. Potential candidates must be under the age of 40. Their research must show therapeutic and industrial potential in life sciences; novelty and originality; as well as importance and significance in connection with targeted therapeutic fields.

Debiopharm Group thanks the EPFL School of Life Sciences for its continuous support in the organisation of this Award.
