Debio 0614 is luso-inotropic agent currently being developed for the treatment of Acute Heart Failure with low ejection fraction. Debio 0614 inhibits the Na+K+ ATPase pump, also know as the sodium-potassium pump and restores the SERCA2 ATPase activity (Sarcoplasmic / Endoplasmic Reticulum Calcium ATPase 2 activity). Debio 0614 acts as a calcium modulator but without heart rate increase, myocardial oxygen consumption and pro-arrhythmic or hypotensive effects. Debiopharm obtained satisfactory phase I-II study results, as well as positive efficacy results of a phase IIa Horizon-HF study.
