The "Kantuta Association”, named after Bolivia's national flower, provides basic care and schooling to deprived children of the streets of Sucre in Bolivia with a view to preparing them for the professional world. Debiopharm Group™ offers an on-going financial support to the "Kantuta Association”.
"Friendship and brotherhood have no price"
The Kantuta Association was founded in 2002 by Delhia Santillan, a collaborator of Debiopharm S.A.. The association provides basic care and schooling to deprived children of the streets of Sucre in Bolivia. Giving them an education and building their self-esteem helps them grow into independent and responsible adults and prepares them for the professional world.
Debiopharm offers an on-going financial support to the "Kantuta Association” which has contributed to the building of new facilities that can care for 65 children between the ages of 6 and 16. Our support has enabled the construction and staffing of a bakery that provides for the centre as well as other bakeries in Sucre; the construction of equipment for four workshops (mechanics, sewing, information technologies, and other activities); a vegetable garden to feed the children of the centre with the possibility of selling any excess production at the local market; and finally handmade crafts (cards, nativity crèches).
In addition to financial support, the group and its employees also donate clothes, toys, games, bicycles, computers and other useful items to “Kantuta Association”.
